A statement I could have punctuated as a question.
Except as a feminist I was a Hillary supporter and always felt hinky about Barrack.
Like he was a really good salesman selling a really expensive product that could have a major impact on my life and that he wasn't all that interested in my wants and needs.
Oh I have his campaign buttons, I gave his campaign money.
But as one of those people who could pull multiple letters from the queer alphabet soup I never felt the love.
I'm sure Pastor Rick Warren felt the love when Obama told him he was uncomfortable with marriage equality and a woman's right to choose. This guy, Rick warren seems to have an awfully cozy relationship with people in Uganda who have talked about murdering LGBT/TQ people.
Then he said how much he admire Ronald Reagan, one of the worst Presidents in history. The reason being Reagan ended an era of 1960s and 70s "excesses". Can't have too much of that exuberant freedom.
I was told he would end the war and roll back the excesses of the Bush Era with its gross violations of human and constitutional rights.
I'm still waiting.
Only now if I want to fly I have to be subjected to an x-ray and or groping of my privates.
Hey Barry... Yo first dude... When are we going to get that PATRIOT Act thingie repealed?
Not on your watch as far as I can tell.
Where's my National Health Insurance? I'm out of work and 63, hoping to survive two more years until Medicare kicks in.
I don't hear much about all the uninsured anymore. What was that number 46 Million? Has that risen with all the layoffs and interest free loans to the too big to fail financial masters of the universe?
What I want to know, Mister President is how come with all the American who are out of work you are fucking us over even more by signing fucking NAFTA type bullshit with Korea?
You see I read the blogs and here's a few headlines and links:
Fire Dog Lake:
159,000 Jobs Lost: The Price of NAFTA-Style Korea Free Trade
159,000 Jobs Lost: The Price of NAFTA-Style Korea Free Trade
Now International Business Times has a more conservative job loss estimate, but generally speaking I have never seen a free trade agreement live up to either the benefits or number of jobs lost estimates.
If you don't believe me when was the last time you found that the product you were buying was made here?
Or spoke to a phone support person based in the USA?
Call me an economic nationalist if you will but if eating local is supposed to be the ecological practice it would seem making it here and selling it here would confer the same reduction in carbon footprint benefits.
Oh I know the MOTUs would have to pay workers more and the surplus value would therefore be less but the long term benefits to working and currently unemployed or underemployed Americans would be immense.
But just when you thought Obama couldn't betray his base anymore...
He caves in on screwing over the working people to give the undeserving rich more money. Particularly galling considering how they make their money by high tech gambling and Ponzi schemes.
